Audience Research - Film Magazine

Below is the questionnaire I created for my magazine cover, I decided to include questions that was open ended qualitative and quantitative so that I received a range of results. As I have already created my main piece and poster I knew my target audience '17-25' I decided to ask only three people to fill in this questionnaire; the reason behind this being that due to time constraints I can only successfully evaluate and analyse three people.

This question received varied results; this is because different people will be attracted by different aspects, especially if they see an aspect that they are interested in (for example image of a actor the like). All of the films selected include the title of the film in a large sized font and use colours that stand out well.

The results for this question are exactly the same as question one, this suggests that the people thought that the magazine covers that was most effective thought also that they advertised the main film the best; this is very interesting as it suggests that if you create a well designed cover with everything in the right place, the main film should be well advertised automatically.

This question like the other two previously answered questions received results for the same magazine covers, this must mean for this target audience the three; Total Film, Entertainment and Premiere believed these where the overall most effective covers compared to the other three.

This answer is a clear 100% view of what the four people found found important and had the most impact on them, this was the main image that was displayed on the magazine cover. It is no surprise that the potential audience answered The Main Image, this is because it is nearly always the largest and most dominant part of the cover and they are able to reveal as much information needed, for example they can reveal the persona of a character by having the person dressed in a particular way, or if they are posed in a certain way; various techniques of editing can create an ambience also by adding effects such as changing the hue or blurring.
